The other day, I was wondering why do I love travelling so much? and then I started to look back into my my quarter of a century life. I was born in Bogota, Colombia but grew up in a city 3 hours Southeast of Bogota. My mom’s family lived in Bogota while my dad’s family lived in small towns near where I grew up. I remember we were always going on a road trips to visit a family members at least 2 hours away. This was about 3 to 4 times a month for 12 years…. The longest road trips we took by car was in 94 and 95. We went from Bogota to Santa Marta. The drive is anywhere from 16 hours to 20 hours. Even though I was 5 I remember those trips as if we went yesterday. We visited Medellin, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cartagena and a ton of other little towns. The highlights for me on the trip were: -Listening to Pastor Lopez music (Colombian folklore music) -Seeing the “Zona Bananera” ( the region of Colombia were bananas are produced). The “Zona Bananera has been one of the most beautiful scenery I have seen to date. – The beaches of Santa Marta – Looking out the window and admiring the ever changing landscape ( we went from Bogota that is 8,8660 feet from sea level to Santa Marta that is 20 ft from sea level) -The “patacones con […]

So a few years ago we decided that owning a house or even apartment was going to be out of our reach so we decided to travel instead. So the “dream” of home ownership does not exist in our lives… (yes we could move 3 hours away from here but this is where the jobs are plus we get to travel). The Bad Sacrifices are made every day, some sacrifice more than others but any sacrifice is hard. First let’s start with work.. hubby works an average of  15 hours a day/ 7 days a week and I take care of the kids. We do not go out on dates (we watch Netflix & eat McDonald’s once in a while). I buy drug store make […]
