Black Lives Matter

During the last two weeks, we have been closely following the situation in the United States. We are not citizens, but we have a special place for the U.S.A. in our hearts. However, racism and police brutality continue to shatter the lives of Black people, Indigenous peoples and POC in the U.S.A., Canada through out the world. We hadn’t understood many things until we saw the video of Mr. George Floyd’s murder. It was an inhumane act and we will not ignore it. As a white Latinx/Indian family we will continue to learn and check our privileges. We will support the ongoing decolonization of our minds and society. Black Lives Matter R.I.P. Mr. George Floyd

Cake: All about perspective

On Easter Sunday T and I made a delicious cake. It was made from scratch, we mastered the food coloring, the texture was fluffy, the taste on point and the frosting was sweet! Since the cake turned out so well, T and I decided to bake his birthday cake. I went to the grocery store for our weekly shopping trip and bought all the ingredients for our cake. T wanted a Oreo cake. I looked at various recipes but I couldn’t decide what to do. So I just decided to follow one recipe for the cake and one for the frosting.
