Wrap up

The last day of June is upon which means this mini breakfast series will conclude today. Today we had a light breakfast. We had fruits (apples, strawberries and bananas), mixed nuts and Jugo de Avena. Parents remember that nourishing our bodies doesn’t have to be complicated and our food does not need to be Instagram perfect. I hope everyone has […]

Breakfast Sides

On a regular day (pre pandemic) breakfast consisted of some cereal or oatmeal with a fruit on the side. Since March 15 we decided to eat a big breakfast almost every day. One because we have the time to cook up a great mean and we need to enjoy life a little bit more. Food gives us happiness! Some of […]

Beverages

Every morning for the past 10 years I have had a cup of coffee with half and inch of milk. Yes, even while pregnant I drank coffee. We hadn’t understood many things until we saw the video of Mr. George Floyd’s murder. It was an inhumane act and we will not ignore it. As a white Latinx/Indian family we will continue to learn and check our privileges. We will support the ongoing decolonization of our minds and society. Black Lives Matter R.I.P. Mr. George Floyd

The Bakers

When I was child my mom and I took a baking class, we learned how to make bread, roscones and doughnuts.  Since then I have tried to make bread once more and it was a failure. During this time with the kids at home, like most of you I have decided to try baking once again with the help of […]

Cake: All about perspective

On Easter Sunday T and I made a delicious cake. It was made from scratch, we mastered the food coloring, the texture was fluffy, the taste on point and the frosting was sweet! Since the cake turned out so well, T and I decided to bake his birthday cake. I went to the grocery store for our weekly shopping trip and bought all the ingredients for our cake. T wanted a Oreo cake. I looked at various recipes but I couldn’t decide what to do. So I just decided to follow one recipe for the cake and one for the frosting.
