Another Berry
The end of August is a couple of days away, which means summer will end soon and this will be the last dessert summer edition. To close this month’s blog, I have chosen to use blackberries and make three different desserts. My motto when it comes to cooking or baking is to always make extra. For example, in this recipe and I made blackberry sauce and I used it in three separate ways. This way you have enough for a couple of days to a week and you don’t have to clean up the mess up.
These are the recipes I used –> FROZEN YOGURT BARKS, CUP CAKES WITH FRESH FROSTING and BLACKBERRY SAUCE
Just to remind you, I always use less condiments such as sugar and salt when baking or cooking than the recipes call for
Some of the changes I made to the recipes to personalize them were: I made cup cakes and cakes and I double most of the ingredients. For the frozen yogurt I used Greek Vanilla Yogurt (5%) and the blackberry sauce was used for the frosting, yogurt bars and on top of the ice cream.
Remember to pay a bit more attention to the sauce so it doesn’t get stuck to the pan. Always use a timer too! Yes, the kids made a huge in the playroom while I baked but it was worth it. The good things is the little ones are learning to clean up too.
